Passengers Now Boarding!

Great to see visitors returning to the Mary after her recent years of surviving a dangerous passage. I thought this would be a good time to share with you this newpaper report of her first ever opening to the public back in Southampton. This is the last of the set of Illustrated News report I managed to collect for my book HIgh Tea on the Cunard Queens.

Unfortunately, when making her last Transatlantic crossing, unlike so many of my fellow crew members, I did not run amok with a screwdriver to fill a suitcase full of mememtoes! On a comparitively recent trip on the QM2 I was told that even my old Seaman's Discharge Book has a nice value. I did eventually manage to find it, but it has no stamp to say I was ever discharged! Things got a bit chaotic towards the end, but does that still mean I'm a m

ember of the crew!
