Following on from the Stephen Payne story, here's the scene of the sinking of the QE in Hong Kong that spurred Stephen into action. Some of the Queen Elizabeth's steel plates were reccycled into Parker Pens. The other Cunard retired Queens have been preserved. The original Queen Mary, on which I worked as an entertainments officer, is now a hotel ship at Long Beach California. The legendry QE2 has been preserved as a hotel ship in Dubai.
